The Mediterranean, closer to home.

Papagalos left Palm Jumeirah and put down roots in Glyfada, a short drive from Vouliagmeni. Chef Petros Markos brings the Mediterranean to your plate: Cretan skioufichta (hand-rolled pasta) with slow-cooked lamb, the day's fish, signature cocktails and much more. A 156-seat dining room with marble, open to the garden and our kitchen.

01 · The story · Mediterranean restaurant on the Athens Riviera

Mediterranean cooking, with an Athenian air.

A laid marble table with wine glasses under warm pendant light at Papagalos Glyfada

The space

Arches, marble, warm light.

You reach Kyprou 65, in the heart of Glyfada, and a parrot greets you from among the trees, our sign. On the busy nights, you feel the place before you even step inside.

Inside, three arches separate the bar from the dining room, and hanging lights cast a warm glow over the marble. In the alcoves, a few discreet parrots hint at where Papagalos got its name, the Greek sister of Papagalos in Dubai.

The table

Two plates, two glasses, and you.

Tables beside the glass front, with greenery up against the windows. Low light, everything set before you sit down.

Service follows the plate, not the clock. Stay as long as you like; no one rushes you.

04 · The chef · seasonal Mediterranean cooking

I don't cook a menu. I cook the season.

Petros Markos · Executive Chef

Petros Markos cooks with the season: what reaches the plate changes with the market and with whatever is genuinely at its best that week. Five mains each season, built on Greek produce, plus two steady cuts on the grill.

Olive oil, cheese, herbs and seafood all come from small Greek producers. It isn't a line on the menu for show; it's the only way to put this food out the way it should be.

Good to know.

Where is Papagalos located?

At 65 Kyprou Street, Glyfada 16674, in Athens' southern suburbs on the Athens Riviera, a short drive from Vouliagmeni. We're a few minutes from the coastal road and Glyfada's main square. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 16:00 and Sunday from 13:00; closed on Mondays. For directions, search "Papagalos Glyfada" on maps.

What kind of cuisine do you serve?

Mediterranean, rooted in Greek produce, under chef Petros Markos. We work with 47+ small Greek producers: Cretan skioufichta (hand-rolled pasta) with lamb, fish of the day, vegetables of the day. At the bar, signature cocktails. It's neither fusion nor a taverna, it's contemporary Mediterranean cooking, built on clarity and the season.

Are you related to Papagalos in Dubai?

Yes. We're the Greek sister to Papagalos on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Same hospitality, same commitment to Mediterranean cooking, but here in Glyfada, with Greek producers and seasonal ingredients.

How do I book a table?

The fastest way is to book online via i-host, with instant confirmation, whenever suits you. For private dining we host up to 10 guests at a dedicated table, and for larger events the whole room is available as a buyout, seating 156. If you'd rather call, phone +30 210 8981018 and we'll take care of the rest.

What are your opening hours?

Tuesday to Saturday 16:00 – 00:00 and Sunday 13:00 – 21:00; we're closed on Mondays. On Sundays we also serve lunch. The kitchen takes orders until late, so you're welcome for an early table, dinner, or simply a drink at the bar. To be sure of a table, we recommend booking ahead.

Is there parking?

Yes. Glyfada's municipal car park is a 2-minute walk from our door. There's also street parking around Kyprou, though it fills up in the evenings, especially at weekends. If you'd like, just ask us when you book and we'll point you the right way.

What's the dress code and the vibe?

Relaxed and elegant, with no strict dress code. Wear what makes you feel good, most guests go smart casual. The mood is quietly luxurious, with low lighting and attentive service, ideal for dinner as a couple or with friends. The same easy pace runs from the first afternoon tables to midnight.
